What is S-Anon?
S-Anon is a program of recovery for those who have been affected
by someone else's sexual behavior. S-Anon is based on the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions of
Alcoholics Anonymous.
Sexual addiction or compulsion can take many forms: sexual affairs with men or
women, sex with children in or outside of the family, sex with prostitutes or other strangers, emotional affairs, compulsive
sexual fantasy, compulsive masturbation, addiction to pornography or internet sex sites and chat rooms, telephone sex,
exhibitionism, voyeurism, and more.
In S-Anon, women and men meet to share their experience, strength and hope;
so they may help solve their common problems and help others to recover from the effects of having lived with or living with
a sexaholic.
S-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution;
it does not wish to engage in any controversy; nor does it endorse or oppose any causes. Our primary purpose is to recover
from the effects upon us of another person's sexaholism and to help the families and friends of sexaholics. We do this
by applying the Twelve Steps of S-Anon to our lives and by welcoming and giving comfort to families of sexaholics.
